Who We Are
Donald Jackson is a New York State Certified Art teacher, holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art and a Master's degree in Educational Technology. Donald has freelanced in comics since 2003 and owned TEC Comix - Interactive Multi-media Comics from 2004 to 2007. He studied Asian Art and Philosophy at Kansai University in Japan and taught English as a second language in Taiwan for four years. In 2009 he was awarded a research fellowship by the New York State University at Buffalo to create Cognitive Comics - A Constructivist Approach to Sequential Art. He has taught comics workshops and professional development seminars for school districts in Western New York since 2005.
Donald was invited to sit on the Youth Concerns Counsel of the Seneca Nation in 2012-13. He is a friend of the Native Roots Artists Guild in the Seneca Nation and supports Indigenous Issues. His content development experience includes comics, graphic design, fine art, animated infomercials, social media marketing, book cover designs, web design, portraiture, caricature, character design and storyboarding for film.
